Stop 2:Sonoma Coast Beach.

We  crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and saw rain for the first time since the Great Smoky Mountains in NC, way back in May. Then we camped right on one of the most dangerous beaches (or so the sign said) in CA. I woke up with a stomach bug the next day, and had to drive on the windiest roads in California.

  1. Why was the beach so dangerous?? The surf? Sorry to hear you had a stomach bug, maybe it was that big sandwich. Grammy

    1. The beach is dangerous because of sleeper waves, backwash and rip currents. A number of people (and dogs) each year are pulled in by the sleeper waves, which are random and can reach 100 yards past the foam line.
