Stop 9: Grand Canyon

We drove from Tuscon to the Grand Canyon. The temp got up to 108!!!. On the way we stopped at Montezuma's Castle and a volcanic park called Sunset Crater. It was really crowded because everyone was there to see the solar eclipse. The glasses were sold out so we couldn't look at the sun but the light looked weird. We camped at Mather campground in the Grand Canyon. The next day we spent at the Grand Canyon. We went on a geology walk where a ranger talked about how the canyon was formed. After we ate lunch we went on a 3 mile walk down in to the canyon, which was really cool. Then we drove to a lookout tower to look into the canyon!

    Well, I guess that answers my hot question! Was your mom freaking out about you guys being at the edge? That made me nervous.

    Love your Grand Canyon pics! They make me want to go back ... Hope you're having a great time in your new temporary home. I sent your mom a few suggestions for places to go, just to get you started!

    Wow, I'd love to see the Grand Canyon. Looks amazing!

    I'm glad Gavin survived the attack from that suspiciously fluffy looking snake! :)

    Where are you now in CA? Are you staying in a house or on a campus somewhere? How's the weather?

    Poppy says that is an elk not a mule deer, and that is why it is so big.
